Empowerment of Indigenous Women/Girls/Youths on Women Leadership,
their Rights, and how to Attenuate the Impact of COVID-19 on their Communities

The outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic has imposed a new way of life on the citizens of the world.
Movements within and without countries have been seriously curtailed leading to an increase in
hardship as many people have lost their jobs. The pandemic has deepened pre-existing inequalities,
exposing vulnerabilities in social, political, and economic systems which are in turn amplifying the
impact of the pandemic. Families and communities across the country are now adapting to changes
in their daily lifestyles that have been imposed on them by COVID-19.The goal of this activity is therefore to sensitize indigenous women/girls and youths on their health
rights, impact of prolonged confinements on women/girls and equally build their capacities on
Leadership and Advocacy.
